Not an expensive day out for the family £14 for a family of 4.
Food and drink reasonable too.
Unusual mixture of animals and a lovely walk in the woods with more animals to see as you go through them

My nephew wanted to go to a farm or zoo and although he had a great time, I dont think it is fair to keep lions in a somewhat small enclosure, they looked bored and depressed, pacing up and down, with nothing stimulating around them at all. I've seen rescue lions look far more enriched and happy in sanctuarys. The crocodile enclosures for some looked very small too, what a depressing existence.
The toilets were disgusting too.
Didn't see the bear enclosure, but I can see others have commented it is no better than the other enclosures. These wild animals have no place being there, this farm/zoo clearly do not care for their well-being and it was hard to watch and left me feeling sad for them.

Visited towards end of Feb. Tropical house was really nice, farm shop and butchers was excellent. Not many other animals out.
The burger place was very slow and the service was poor, but it tasted ok.
Wear wellies!

We had a fantastic time at Johnsons of Old Hurst in Cambridgeshire! The zoo is home to a wonderful variety of animals clearly well looked after and loved.
The farm’s steakhouse was high-quality with meat sourced straight from their own butchery. The food was excellent, and the team were incredibly friendly and attentive. Overall, a perfect mix of wildlife, nature, and great food—highly recommend a visit!

We have visited here twice now and it’s fantastic. The price is amazing (I really hope this doesn’t change dramatically) and it’s a lovely little zoo. Such an impressive crocodile house. I have never been up to lions so closely. So nice to see bears too as they seem to be a rarity now. All animals looked healthy. They have some lovely different animals here, some that you don’t see at normal zoos, skunks, dears, highland cows, emus and many more.
On the second occasion we went to the restaurant around the back and this was AMAZING! Hand on heart, I think it’s the nicest place I have ever eaten. 8 of us turned up and the staff accommodate us even though we didn’t have a booked table. All of us said the food was amazing, even the children. All completely empty plates.
Will definitely be going back.

Sure! Here is the review text for you to copy:
Johnson’s of Old Hurst steakhouse offers a unique and upscale dining experience in the countryside, where high-quality farm-to-table meat takes center stage. The atmosphere blends rustic charm with a touch of the unexpected, featuring a spacious, cozy interior and warm, friendly service. Parking is hassle-free with a dedicated lot, and while the menu is on the pricier side, the steak cuts—sourced directly from the farm’s own butchery—are exceptional, cooked precisely to order, and packed with flavor.
The menu offers a variety of options, from premium steaks like fillet and sirloin to hearty Scotch eggs and venison dishes, ensuring something for everyone. Portion sizes are generous, and the farm-fresh ingredients make each dish worth savoring. If you’re feeling adventurous, the massive 32oz tomahawk steak is a showstopper meant for sharing. While a full meal with sides and drinks can add up quickly, the quality and atmosphere make it a worthwhile indulgence.
Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends, and there’s no strict dress code, making it a great spot for both casual outings and special occasions. After your meal, you can explore the farm shop or simply enjoy the cozy ambiance before heading out. If you’re looking for a top-tier steakhouse experience in Cambridgeshire, Johnson’s of Old Hurst delivers on all fronts—great food, excellent service, and an unforgettable setting.
Feel free to copy and use it however you’d like. Let me know if you need any tweaks!

Some great animals to see, who look well kept. Some sign posts around the zoo would help as its a little muddled in where to walk to see all the animals. There is a woodland walk, but we didn't see anything that stated how long the walk was or where it went.
The tropical house was well done with many healthy looking species of camens.
Apart from the shop and cafe staff, we didn't see any around the zoo, which would have helped with animal info etc.
A pleasant little place to visit for a couple of hours.
Our visit was in February, so quite a lot of wet muddy areas.

Lovely place, but WAY TOO muddy in February. Paths and play area need better surface.
